Expo Attracts International Developers, InvestorsNAR is an event sponsor of Cityscape USA, a two-day networking exhibition and three-day conference, Sept. 9-12, in New York City. The event is for regional and international institutional investors, real estate developers, governmental and development authorities, architects, designers, consultants, and other senior professionals in the real estate industry. NAR members that register before July 15 receive free entry into the exhibition.

SHORT SALE ALERTWe have recently placed the "Short Sale" indicator on the MLS input sheets as a required field, but that does not take care of existing listings. Brokers need to make certain that all of their listings that indicate "Short Sale" in the Broker Remarks section have also noted it in the Short Sale field. That should be completed by July 10th as it is extremely important to alert all MLS participants of this condition.
We also have MarketLinx working on a pop - up reminder to anyone inputting listings that they need to:
"Advise other participants of the MLS whether and how any reduction in gross commission established in the listing contract, required by the lender as a condition of approving the sale, will be apportioned between listing and cooperative participants"
Brokers should begin making this disclosure now. The Association is not responsible for making certain that Brokers make this disclosure , they are only responsible for providing the ability to disclose the information.
We will be sending out more on this when some new MLS Rules are received from NAR by the end of July. PLEASE MAKE CERTAIN YOUR SHORT SALE LISTINGS CONTAIN ALL OF THE REQUIRED INFORMATION.

TRANSACTION BROKER DISCLOSUREAs of July 1, 2008, it will not be necessary to present the Transaction Broker Disclosure. In Florida, the presumption is that everyone is a TRANSACTION BROKER unless otherwise stated.

Members, to register for classes, go to the date of the class and click on the title of the class and then click on the registration button, follow the prompts to register.
